The 3rd Davao City Baseball Cup opens on Saturday, 8 a.m., at the University of Mindanao Matina Campus.
Eyeing for honors are the Armed Forces of the Philippines Logistics Command, Baguio Central, Bayabas, C.B.Bangoy, Calinan Central, Catalunan Grande, F.Bustamante, Lt.C.Villafuerte Sr., Mulig, Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International, Riverside, Sta.Ana Central and Wangan Elementary schools.
Calinan National, Crossing Bayabas National, F.Bustamante National and Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International High Schools are entered in the secondary division.
Tatsuo Uchida, the man behind the start of the of the grassroots baseball development program three years ago, will formally open the tournament .
The awarding ceremony is at the Top of the Apo View Hotel on February 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Backing the tournament are the Tokyo Kichijoji Lions Club of Tokyo, Japan, Japan-Philippines Industry Council, Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai and Hon.Consul Hiroshi Mitsuya.
